What you can expect to achieve

A therapist is there to help you, but do not expect any miracle cures. Unless you and your partner are willing to work hard then therapy is a waste of time. You will be offered suggestions and advice on how to better your relationship, but you have to take these on board if they are to make a difference. Therapy is only beneficial if you have the desire to make a change, and are willing to express your thoughts and feelings.

Even if it is a problem responding sexually, there are issues to do with your relationship that can be linked to this, and that will be discussed. A therapist will want to help you make the change that you seek, but if this is not possible, then they will try to make it easier to cope with such difficulties. Remember, therapy is about expressing your emotions but also requires hard work, commitment and teamwork.
